Saving Leon

Prologue

Jessie sat in her office, bored. She watched as the rain leaked down the window and the trees battered the glass. She stood up and walked over to the window. A figure slipped into her room, followed by another, slightly taller one. She glanced around, and saw no-one. She looked out again. The two figures emerged from the shadows and crept towards her. They stood behind her, one on either side, and both leaned forward to whisper in her ear. "BOO!" Jessie screamed and spun around. The lights came on and Chief and Leon fell on the floor laughing. Jessie put her hands on her hips. "GUYS! THAT WAS NOT FUNNY!!!!" She moaned. Leon and Chief stood up, still laughing. Leon high fived Chief and both guys dried their eyes. "Man THAT was HILARIOUS!!!" Chief laughed.

Chapter 1

"Hello? Are you there?" Jessie whispered into her phone. "Yeah I'm here" replied a loud voice. "SHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Jessie hissed. "Sorry" The voice replied much quieter. "What is it?" Jessie spoke very quietly into the phone then listened for a bit. Chief walked in as she started to speak. "This is going to be so..." She broke off. "Gotta Go Bye!" She hung up quickly and grinned at Chief, nervously. Chief raised an eyebrow. "So, who was that?" he said looking at her suspiciously. "Oh, that? That was... uh... my mum!" Chief put his foot on a chair that was in front of Jessie's desk and leaned on his knee. "Ah... so how is Mrs Loveable?" He said "Um... she's fine... she uh... just wanted to say hi!" Chief sat down so that he was facing Jess and the chair had the back to her. He laughed. "Who was it?" he smiled. "And why did you hang up as i walked in?" Jessie blushed. "Ok, it wasn't my mum, it was... a friend." Chief nodded. "Right, and you hung up because?" Jessie stood up and pulled Chief up and pushed him outside. "Never you mind!" She said laughing.

Chapter 2

Jessie sneaked to the back door of the HQ. She opened it and allowed someone to slip inside. Quietly, her and the mysterious visitor crept to the office of Chief. A few minutes later they left and crept into Leon's dorm. Again they left. The next day Jessie and Beth were walking down the corridor. As they walked past Chief's office they heard a scream. "AAAARGH!!!" Chief yelled. "Who put whipped cream and Cheetos in my hat?!?" Chief moaned. "MY HAIR IS GOING TO BE RUINED!!!" He cried. Jessie giggled quietly and winked at Beth, who giggled too. They heard a squelch as he sat down. "WHAAA!" He jumped up. "ICE CREAM!!!" Beth spluttered. Jessie clamped her hand over Beth's mouth and mimed to be quiet. "Oreo flavor...!!!" Jessie smiled. "Wait a minute... Oh NOOOO!!!" The heard chief groan. "Its all over my pants!" Beth burst out laughing and Jessie did too. "Wait a minute..." Chief said. "JESSIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Jess looked at Beth and pushed her forwards. "RUN!" She said laughing. Their next stop was Leon's dorm. They arrived just in time. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Leon screamed, like a girl. "FFFFF-FREEZING!!!" Beth and Jessie grinned. The bucket of ice cold water. They listened again. They could hear Leon mumbling in French. "AAAAA!" He screamed again. They heard him stumble backwards and onto a cake. Jessie grinned and pictured the plastic spiders she and Beth had placed in a paper bag in the closet. Her and Beth high fived each other and sneaked away. As they were walking down another corridor. Jessie and Beth were giggling to themselves. Beth did an impression of The Chief. "Ooooh! My Hair!!!" She said as Jessie staggered with laughter. "Eh HEM!" a voice said infront of them. Jessie and Beth looked up slowly. Chief raised an eyebrow. Beth looked at Jessie, Jessie looked at Beth. "Uh oh!" They said together.

Chapter 3

In Chief's office, Jessie and Beth sat on a couch while Chief talked to them about practical jokes. "These jokes are unacceptable... blah blah blah... agents like you... childish..." Jessie rolled her eyes and while Chief's back was turned pulled a face at Beth. Beth giggled and Chief looked over his shoulder. Beth looked down at the floor, hiding her grin. Jessie smiled. "Um... Chief?" Chief looked at her. "I has a little question." Jessie said raising her hand. "Go on" Chief said folding his arms. "Well... how come you played a joke on me?!" Jessie said standing up. Chief's face dropped. "Oh.. well um..." Chief went pink in the face. Jessie walked closer and closer until she was centimeters away from his face. "Well?" She said. Beth jumped up. "Hey!" Jessie smiled and hugged Chief. "Don't worry about it" She said laughing. "And i'm sorry we played jokes on you" She looked up. "And messed up your hair!" She said laughing as she ruffled it. Beth smiled. "I'm glad you two weren't fighting. I hate it when you fight." Jessie grinned and playfully punched Chief on the arm. "Watch it!" He said playfully back. "Hey... Where's Leon?" Jessie said looking around. "He's probably gone off to moan about you two." Chief said as he poked Jessie playfully. "Oh ok!" Jessie said relaxing. "Well, i'm going to be off!" Beth said backing out the door. "See ya!" She called. Jessie sat down on the desk and messed with the papers on the desk. Chief walked over and straightened them. Jessie looked at him then deliberately knocked them onto the floor. Chief bend down to pick them up. Jessie watched him. He stood up and Jessie was still staring at him. "Um... Earth to Jessie" He said waving his hand infront of her face. Jessie shook her head and snapped out of it. "Sorry" She mumbled and blushed. Chief laughed as he turned to the door. "Can't keep your eyes off me!" He said laughing. Jessie hit him with the newspaper. "No!!!" Jessie jumped off the desk. "So are you gonna wait for Leon?" She said. "Yeah, I don't want him wandering off. He's a nice guy. When you get to know him." Jessie smiled. "Well i sure got to know him when he locked me up and almost starved me!" Jessie said. "Well I'll wait with you." She added yawning. They both sat on the couch, and drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 4
The warm glow of the build a bearville sun poured through the window, and Jessie stirred to a gentle shaking. "Jessie... Wake up... It's morning..." Chief's voice whispered gently. Jessie stretched and opened her eyes. She looked around. She was in the office at the HQ. She looked confused at Chief who was laughing. "What's going on? Is this another joke?" Jessie looked around nervously. Chief laughed again and relaxed on the couch. "No joke, we were waiting up for Leon, and we fell asleep. We must have stayed here until now." Chief said shaking his head in an amused fashion. Jessie relaxed too. "Oh... ok..." She looked as Chief and giggled. "What?" he said looking at her. "Oh, just you look kinda cute with your hair sticking out like that" Jessie said laughing. Chief smoothed down his hair and stood up. "Not funny!" He said smiling. He headed towards the door. "Where are you going?" Jessie asked as she stood up and re-did her braid. "To see if Leon is back" he said as he walked out the door. "Wait for me!" Jessie said as she ran out of the office. At Leon's dorm there was still no sign of him. Jessie walked over to the bedside table. She picked up a note that was left. It read: I finally have what was once mine, Leon was always my best. You'll never see him again!!! Signed Dr. O" Jessie looked up at Chief. Her face was white as a sheet. "Does this mean... that Leon has... returned to his ways?" Jessie said slowly. Chief touched her shoulder in reassurance. "I don't know..." He hugged her close, thinking desperately. "I don't know"

Chapter 5
"Beth? Yes it's Jessie. Leon is still missing!... And there's a note in his room. I think he might have been kidnapped..." Jessie listened as Beth spoke. "Ha ha very funny... no really it's serious!" She listened again. "Never mind that he is getting a taste of his own medicine!" Chief smiled to himself when he heard that remark. He liked to listen to Jessie's phone conversations, they make him laugh. "Ok, you're coming round? Great! Yeah we are here. Uh..." Jessie blushed. Beth said something else and Chief heard a laugh. "It's not funny! Leon didn't turn up! And i was tired!" Jessie said annoyed. Chief laughed to himself. The sleepover. Jessie hung up. "Ugh!" Jessie folded her arms. "I have a bad feeling that Beth won't let me forget the little sleepover!" Jessie said angrily. Chief laughed again. "You seem to be laughing a lot today Chief" Jessie said raising her eyebrows. "Well maybe I've learned to relax." It was Jessie's turn to laugh. "You? Relax? You must be joking!" They both laughed again. Beth walked in about 10 minutes later. "Hey guys" She said smiling. Jessie smiled back. "Hi Beth." then she went serious. "We have to find Leon, I have a bad feeling about this." Jessie handed Beth the note. "Dr. O?" Beth said thoughtfully. "You recognise the name?" Beth nodded slowly. "Yes but i'm not quite sure where... I'm going to go back to my palace and get one of my Oreo researchers to research that name." She said turning the note over. "May i take this with me?" She said looking up. "Sure" Chief said as he stood up and walked over to Jessie and Beth. "Jessie and I will be waiting for your results." He said professionally. He leaned forwards slightly. "Only try not to take all night" He said quietly winking. Beth laughed and Jessie shot an angry look at him. "Don't worry!" Beth said laughing. "It will be done within 3 hours." Chief stepped to one side as Jessie went to hit him playfully in the chest. "Good to hear" He said smiling. Jessie smiled and shook her head. "I'm going to the lab, Cade might have heard of this Dr. O" Beth went to her palace, Jessie went to the Lab and Chief... well, he had an afternoon nap in his office.

Chapter 6
"Hellooo?" Jessie said quietly as she knelt by the snoozing Chief. She waved her hand infront of his closed eyes. She turned to Beth and giggled quietly. "He's exausted!" She whispered, standing up. Beth smiled and looked over at him. "Awww!" She laughed quietly. "Should we wake him?" She asked. "No... Leave him to rest. We'll tell him the results later" Jessie said kindly. Beth revealed her research to Jessie, who nodded intently. Cade walked in at that moment. "Hey Jessie!" She said loudly. "Shhhhhhhh!" Jess and Beth hissed and both pointed to Chief. "Oh" Cade whispered back quietly. "I know who Dr. O is!" She exclaimed, she handed them an article. It explained how the mad Dr. O had gone crazy after some accusations

Jessie gasped. "Is this him?" she asked as she pointed to the picture. "YES!" Beth said angrily. "I threw him out because the Oreos he was making tasted yuck and he was forcing the citizens of my kingdom to buy and eat them for high prices. He was a cheat. So i threw him out." Jessie looked at the article. "Thanks for that Cade, it helps a lot. Although we already knew he worked for Beth because she told me before." At that moment, the girls heard Chief stretch and yawn. They all looked over at him. He blinked. "What?" he said in mid-stretch. Jessie looked at Cade and Beth and all three burst into laughter.

Chapter 7
Jessie briefly explained to Chief what they had discovered. He nodded thoughtfully and when they had finished, he walked over to the cupboard by the desk. He lifted out a small box and inside was an oreo. Beth walked forward and smelt the oreo. "It's an oreo-nator oreo!" She said grinning. "How did you get it?" Chief smiled. "I guess it's story time." Jessie looked at Beth and Cade with a surprised expression. "I'd love to stay Chief but i have to get back to the lab" Cade said sadly. "OK bye cade!" Jessie and Beth said. Chief nodded. WHen she had left, Beth and Jessie stared at Chief. He looked at them with one eyebrow raised. "Well? Shall I begin?" Jessie pulled over an inflatable chair and Chief sat down on it. Jessie and Beth then both sat on the floor, Jessie cross-legged and Beth with her legs to one side. Chief paused a moment before he began. "Well, you all know how Jessie came to the BABV SS, but I don't think i've told either of you how the BABV SS started, or how I became the Chief." Jessie looked at Beth excitedly. Beth grinned back. "Well, when i was about 11, my mother and father sent me to the school in Build-A-Bearville. I loved it here and made many friends, including Maxine and Chloe. Now, I was training in a number of martial arts and self defence, and Maxine asked me one day what i hoped to achieve with these skills. I was young then..." "You're young now!" Jessie interupted. "Fine then, I was younger then. So i said, 'I wanna be a secret agent!' Maxine laughed and told me, 'Just follow your dream.' Two years later and i had graduated from school, Chloe called me up and asked if I would meet her at the coffee shop. I did, and she asked me if i would like to work for her, as an undercover agent, to investigate goings on in BABV. I did, for a time. This was in 2006, i worked for a year for Chloe, it was good. One day she sent me to investigate this Dr. O Character. He had made an oreo machine and well, you know that part, well at 14 i went to the fair, in August of 2007. The professor was outraged and i managed to take this cookie, from his machine, I got Cade, who was a friend of mine before the agency, to figure out a way of preserving the cookie so it stays as fresh as it was the day it was made, almost four years ago." Jessie and Beth said open-mouthed. "Ladies?" Chief waved his hand in-front of their eyes. They snapped out of the amazement. "WOW!" Beth said. "So when did you form BABV SS?" Jessie asked. Chief stood up. He walked to a window. "About a year later" Chief said looking out. "When i was 15. I went on a few missions alone, and had a few defeats. I escaped most without a scratch. All but one. The Harver Case." His eyes looked sad. Jessie felt herself flash back to when she first met the Chief. The scar! Chief shook his head. "Well, after a few weeks in hospital, i recovered, realising that it was too risky to go alone. So i set about finding a partner. I did." Beth looked at Jessie. "Was it you?" Jessie shook her head. "I don't think so" She looked at Chief. "No, It was my friend. Marco. He was amazing, a real good agent. So much like you Jessie. But..." He stopped again. A single tear slid down his face. "One mission, we went together. It was awesome, but dangerous. Thea was the enemy this time. She was powerful, Very powerful. She went to blast me with her rake thingy and Marco leapt in-front of me. In a few moment's he was... gone." Jessie stood up and walked over. "Oh Chief, I'm so sorry!" She hugged him and he wiped his tear away. "Anyway" He said with a croak in his voice, he cleared his throat. "Anyway, after Marco... I tried to go back to working alone, but, i couldn't. So Cade and the others set about finding another partner." He turned and put his arm round Jessie. "They tracked you down and then called me over. I watched you for a few days then i decided you were the one, the new partner." Jessie smiled. "So you invited me to come, and i did!" Beth walked over and hugged both of them. "Now THAT'S a story!" She said laughing.

Chapter 8
Chief put a duffel bag on the table and began to pack the supplies into it. Beth called Remi and asked her to look after Rolo for her while she went on an adventure. "Awww, I never get to go on an adventure" Remi said sadly. "Maybe one day you will!" Beth encouraged. "I'm sure you will!" Jessie was busy packing her backpack for all the extra clothes and gadgets. Her bag was waterproof so that the gadgets wouldn't ruin if they encountered any wet paths. When Beth had hung up she walked over to Chief. "Soooooo." Beth said trying to sound casual. Chief looked at her. "Sooooo?" he repeated as he stuffed some rope, a lot of it, into the bag. Beth played with the paper weight on the table. "Sooo, what happened last night?" Beth asked, looking up at Chief, mischievously. Chief stopped packing. "Last night?" He continued. "Nothing" Beth put her hands on her hips. She raised an eyebrow and cleared her throat. "Then why are you blushing?" Chief turned around. "It's quite hot in here huh?" He said quickly and he opened a window. Beth shook her head laughing. "Chief!!! Tell me!" She said putting on adorable puppy-dog eyes. "PLEEEEEEEAAASE?????" She begged. Chief looked at her. "Look, nothing happened last night, we just accidentally fell asleep waiting for Leon." He said as he turned to look for another piece of equipment. Beth sighed. "Oh, ok" Beth went to find Jessie. Jessie had finished packing and was on her way to the office. "Oh hey Beth!" Jessie said as she struggled with the heavy bags. "Can you help me, i'm just on my way to the office." She said. "Oh sure!" Beth said taking a bag. The two girls walked back to the office and put the bags on the desk. "Hmmmm, Maybe i should just use my backpack, this bag may be a bit big." Chief said. He turned to pull a blue backpack from the cupboard and he transferred all the gear into it. Jessie unzipped her bag and looked inside. "I've got my spare clothes and Chief's, as well as the gadgets. Beth you should have your spare clothes in there and there's room for your oreo magic stuff." Jessie said in an organized way. Beth looked in her bag. "Yep!" She said. "I'm so excited!" She added. Jessie pulled out her PDA and sent a message to Evan to tell him to look after Stripes while she was away then she looked at the others. "Are we ready?" She asked. "YEAH!" Beth said back. "Then let's go!" Chief said in a leader way.

Chapter 9
About half an hour later, Jessie, Chiefy and Beth were trekking through a jungle. Jessie stopped for a minute. "Guys!" She said looking at her traveling companions. "I think we need to change!" She said looking down at her black uniform. "I'm roasting!" Chief dumped his bag on the floor. "Good idea. I'll put some tents up so you girls can have a little privacy." He said pulling a canvas out of another bag. Jessie changed into a short-sleeved white canvas top, canvas pumps and khaki shorts. Beth wore similar clothes, as did Chief, only his shoes were blue and so was his top. Jessie also pulled her hair into a side-bunch instead of a plait. Because of her usual hair-do, it is made curly. Once changed, they continued on into the jungle. Beth and Jessie allowed Chief walk on ahead. "So Jessie..." Beth asked cooly. "What do you think of the Chief?" Jessie looked at Beth with an eyebrow raised. "Chief?" She looked over and the young, blonde man who was now making a bridge to cross a small but powerful stream. "He's a nice guy!" She shrugged. "Nooo... I mean... you know..." Beth nudged Jessie. "What? No? I mean... we're just friends!!!" Jessie said quickly. "Oh ok..." Beth said looking over at Chief. Jessie did too. What she didn't realise was for how long. A few seconds later she shook her head. Beth laughed. "I saw that!" She said and winked at Jessie. "Saw what?" Jessie said going a little bit pink. "You know what i mean" Beth said winking again. "Hey Chief! Wait up!" Jessie walked over to cross the bridge. Chief followed. Suddenly, an arrow shot through the forest. Jessie ducked out of the way but lost her balance. She fell towards the water, but it was really deep now. She fell, with one foot on the bridge. She grasped the air, hoping to find something to cling to. A hand suddenly grasped hers. She looked up. "Chief!" Beth said amazed. "Talk about great reflexes." Jessie looked into those crystal blue eyes. They looked back. Slowly he pulled her back onto the bridge. "Thank you" Jessie said softly. "It's ok" He replied. Then he looked over at the source of the arrow. "We must be in Native Territory, We have to move on, fast." They made their way along the bridge quickly, and continued into the jungle.

Chapter 10
A few hours later, about two hours before sunset, Chiefy stopped in a path. “We are still on locals’ soil, so I don’t think tents are an option.” He looked up at the trees. “I’ll build a shelter up there. We can sleep there tonight.” He said pointing to a high tree. Jessie looked up. “Right, so me and Beth will collect fire wood and maybe some fruit.” Beth put her bag down by a tall banana tree and picked up a few sticks. “Let’s go Jess.” Jessie looked over at Chief as he crouched down to pull out a knife and rope. “Will you be ok here?” She said worriedly. “Yeah sure, Jessie, I’m a secret agent, I can survive an hour or two in the jungle.” He laughed. “OK, good.” Jessie replied, relieved. She turned and went to catch up with Beth. Chief worked on, quickly building a sort of tree-house. By the time the girls returned, with arms full of fruit and firewood. He was almost finished. In fact, he wasn’t even visible as he was adding a few finishing touches to the interior. “CHIEF?” Jessie called out. “Oh! Hey! Almost done!!!” He replied. A few moments later he appeared on the balcony. “So… you like?” He asked, waving his arms towards the magnificent structure. “Wow!” Beth said is awe. “How long were we gone for.” Chief looked at his watch. “About an hour.” He called down. Beth whispered to Jessie “I was being sarcastic” Jessie giggled and then called up. “So Chief… are you sleeping alone up there? Or may we join you?” Chief smiled showing his pearly white teeth and walked over to a mechanism which allowed the girls to be lifted into the tree house. Once in, Jessie made some dinner and the three rescuers ate under the stars.

Chapter 11
After eating, the three friends sat by the fire and watched the flames flicker. Beth told a story of her brave oreo warriors who fought against an army of bad guys. Jessie's eyes were wide with amazement. "Wow!" She said as Beth's tale drew to a close. Then Beth got a call from Arcee. "Hey Arcee!" Beth said into her cell phone. "Yeah... It's awesome... Cool!... Sounds Great!" Jessie gazed at the fire and imagined what her best friend, and mentor, Evan would say. She imagined him giving her advice on survival. How he used to faint at the sight of Selena. How he would cheer her up by acting silly. Jessie smiled to herself. "Oh yeah and there was this bridge! And some guys were shooting arrows at us and one knocked Jessie off the bridge and Chief rescued her!" Jessie looked at Chief and then Beth "BETH!!!!" Chief seemed to blush. But with the fire it was hard to tell. "And then they were..." Beth walked off onto the far balcony, so Jessie and Chief couldn't hear what she was saying. "It was soooooo cute!" she said as she returned. "What? You want to talk to them? OK" She handed the phone to Chief who cringed as he held it to his ear. "Hello?" He said anxiously. Arcee played the song 'Puppy Love' down the phone. "Ha ha!" Chief said sarcastically as he passed the phone back. Beth said goodbye and then looked at Jessie and Chief, who looked like they were about to attack her. "I'm gonna go to bed!" Beth said quickly. She was in deep trouble in the morning. Chief and Jessie sat in awkward silence. Finally Chief broke the silence. "That Arcee!" He said with a laugh. He turned to face Jessie over the fire. "Is it me or does everyone seem to... you know..." Jessie nodded. "Yeah, they don't seem to accept that we are just good friends" Chief nodded solemnly. "Hey guys!" a voice called from the other balcony. "EVAN!" Jessie cried as she ran over and hugged her friend. She stopped. "WHERE IS STRIPES????????????!!!!!!" She said holding him at arms length. Jessie heard the clip clop of little hooves. "He wanted to come along!" Evan said with a weak smile. Jessie hugged her beloved zebra. "Oh, ok! You cheeky little rascal!" She said ruffling his mane. She looked at Evan. "Thanks" She smiled. "Evan!" Chief said and he and Evan did one of those arm hug things. "Good to see you mate!" He said. The boys had a discussion about something and Jessie went to turn in. "Oh Jessie wait a minute!" Chief said urgently. "I want to talk to you." Jessie looked confused. "Erm... ok" Evan looked at his watch. "I'd best be off, i'm having a meal with the local people. If you need me i'll be around" Evan said. Jessie smiled. He was always looking for adventure. "So what was it you wanted me for?" Jessie said after Evan had departed. "Just to chat." Chief said putting the fire out and lighting some candles. "The only times we've had alone are when we were waiting for Leon. And well, weren't concious." He said with a laugh. "So, Miss Loveable." He said smiling. "How have you been?" Jessie smiled. "I've been fine Mr. Bear" She replied. Chief brought out a radio. "May i have the next dance?" He said laughing. Jessie nodded. The radio crackled to life. The two friends danced for a while. Then then walked over to the balcony edge and counted the stars, making pictures. "Look there's the great bear!" Jessie said pointing at the dots. "Oh yeah!" Chief said. "And there is a bunch that look kinda like.... you!" Chief pointed to a cluster of stars. "How?" She said. Chief pointed. "There's your hat. Your eyes. This string here is your braid. And this little star, is your nose!" Chief explained. Jessie laughed. She looked down to the floor. Chief looked at her. "Don't worry about Leon." He lifted her chin with his finger. "He can look after himself, remember." Jessie nodded. They both looked at each other for a moment then Jessie spoke. "I should be getting to bed. We have an early start tomorrow." She said. She walked into the treehouse. "Goodnight!" She whispered. "Goodnight" Chief replied. They smiled at each other. Then Chief put the candles out and went to bed too.

Chapter 12
The next morning, the three adventurers got up and started on their way, after eating a fruit salad made by Chef Chief. After a few miles of trekking Beth collapsed. "Soooo TIRED!" She said. Chief lifted her up. "We haven't walked that far!" He said as his voice strained. "Come on, we want to find the lair before dark." Chief carried Beth on his back like she was a little girl. Beth fell asleep. After about half an hour of walking, they came across a tall castle. Jessie shuddered. "Something tells me this is the place." She said shivering. Chief pointed at a sign by the door. "Something tells me it won't be easy getting in." He said laughing. The sign read 'Dr. O's Sinister Hide-out Welcome! go away!' Chief woke Beth up gently and the three started to find a way in. "This place is creepy!" Beth said. "I know!" Jessie replied. The climbed over a wall and sneaked over to the main gate. "Locked" Beth said disappointed. "Guys!" Jessie spun around. "EVAN!" She whispered. "What are you doing here?" Evan looked to the floor sheepish-ly "I, um wanted to be in on adventure" He mumbled. Chief looked at Beth, who looked at Jessie, who looked at Evan. Jessie sighed. "Well, i guess we could use one more." Evan jumped into the air. "YESSS!!!" He yelled. "Shhhhhhhh!" The others hissed. Jessie rolled her eyes, "Any minute now i expect Remi to turn up!" She said sarcastically. "Hey guys! Wait up!" Jessie cringed. "Hi Remi!" Chief laughed. "I didn't know you were psychic Jess!" Jessie shot him a sarcastic look and let Remi come along. "Is anyone else going to join us?" She asked rhetorically. "MEEE!" added another voice. "ARCEE!!" Beth squealed and she hugged her best friend. "Hi! You came!" She said happily. Chief shook his head laughing. "This is classic!" Jessie clapped her hands together. "Right that's everyone." She paused. "Good!". She turned to walk around the castle. "Hey! Wait up!" Yelled Drew, Carly and BearHugger. "Honestly!" Jessie said slapping her forehead. She turned to Chief. "Let's not tell anyone when we go on a mission next time." She said laughing. "Right some of you will have to stay here and keep watch. BH, Carly and Drew, you do that. Arcee, Beth and Remi you go one way and try to find Leon, Me, Chief and Evan will go the other way. Got that?" She looked around, they nodded. "Let's move!"

Chapter 13
After looking around the perimeter, Evan found a small crack in the castle wall, too small for Chief or Evan to fit through, and just too small for Jessie. "Nuts!" Chief said kicking the wall. "I know." Jessie sighed. Then she had an idea. "Evan, you can use your keyblade to open the crack so i can get in." Evan summoned his blade and hit the crack with it. It immediately opened another few centimetres, which was enough for them all to squeeze in without difficulty. "Thanks Evan" Jessie said and she hugged him. "I told you, you'd need me" He said tipping his fedora. Jessie giggled and turned to walk swiftly down the corridor. Chief followed and so did Evan. At the end them met up with Arcee Beth and Remi. "Ok, you know what to do, meet back here in one hour to report anything." Jessie commanded. They both departed. Jessie looked in a room, there was a crazy looking machine with Oreonator etched into the steelwork. "That must be the creepy machine that got him kicked out of Beth's place." Jessie guessed. They turned another corner and there was Dr. O himself. "You snoops!" He cackled and headed toward them. "Uh oh!" Chief whispered

Chapter 14
Dr. O glared at the 6 rescuers. Then he grinned. "Ahh, Sidney Bear!" He said with recognition. "It's been a very long time, my boy!" Chief looked confused. "Who are you?" he said. "Don't you remember me?" Dr. O asked. "Um... no" Chief replied. "Look harder!" 'O' commanded. Chief blinked hard. "No." He whispered, "NO, It can't be!" He shook his head. "You can't be!" Dr. O laughed an evil laugh. "Oh, but Sidney, It is me" Chief backed away. "Chief? What is going on?" Jessie whispered as she clung to his arm. Chief remained silent. "Sidney here, is an old friend of mine, more than a friend. A Relative!" Remi gasped. All eyes were on chief. "It's true" He admitted after a few seconds. "Dr. O, Osvaldo Science... is my uncle." Evan patted Chief on the arm. "It's ok Chief. It's not your fault." Chief sighed. "Wow, hard luck Chief. I'd hate to have that goy as my uncle!" Arcee said. "EXCUSE ME!" Os shouted. "What? It's true?" Arcee replied, smiling. Suddenly remembering their mission, Jessie stepped forward. "We believe you have taken a friend of ours!" Jessie said bravely. "He's not my friend." Evan muttered. Jessie glared at him. "Sorry" He said guiltily. Dr. O looked at Jessie curiously. "Ah, so you are the little princess who i sent Leon to kidnap? And my, what a pretty little thing you are!" Dr. O held Jessie's face. "Get off me!" She struggled. "No wonder he deserted me for you!" Dr. O taunted. "Let go of her!" Evan demanded. "Shut it!" Dr. O snapped. "Yes, i think i'd like it very much to have you around." He snapped dome handcuffs on Jessie's wrist and had the others put in a dungeon cell. Then he led Jessie to his room where he kept Leon.

Chapter 15
"Jess?!" Leon said in surprise as Osvaldo pushed her into the room. "Get off me you horrible man!" Jessie cried. "Leon?" She looked at him. "Did you come here... on purpose?" Jessie asked. "What?!" Leon replied. "Of course not! That Dr. O kidnapped me!" Jessie looked at the floor. "Oh... Leon, what are we gonna do? Chief is like a wet cabbage, the others are locked up. We're trapped. We have no hope!" Jessie sighed. Leon, who had no chains, gave her a quick hug. "I'm sure there's someone out there!" He re-assured.

Meanwhile...
Drew looked at her watch. "They've been AGES!" She groaned. BH and Carly kicked stones with their shoes. "I know, but we have to keep watch!" Carly said bored. "But what if they are in trouble?" BH said. "Then Chief would have contacted us." Carly replied. "But what if Chief is hurt, and can't?" Drew retorted. Carly thought. "You might be right. I'll call him." Carly dialed the number. There was no answer. "Oh no!" Carly said, worried. Suddenly she got an incoming call. "Hello?" she answered. "Chief? Where are you?... WHAT!" Drew sat up and crawled over to Carly and BH. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN JESSIE'S BEEN KIDNAPPED?!?" Drew and BH looked at each other. "You're joking right? You're really on your way out with Leon and Dr. O right now? Oh... Don't worry Chief, we're coming!" She hung up. "They are in trouble, this Dr. O guy is Chief's uncle and he's kidnapped Jessie, the others are in the dungeon." The three look-outs stood up and went to find a way in.

Meanwhile...
Arcee and Beth played noughts and crosses on the dungeon wall. Remi sat quietly in the corner. Evan continuously banged his head on the wall and Chief lay in the center of the room staring into space. "It's over isn't it?" Remi sighed. Evan stopped banging. "No, Remi, i'm sure we can escape out of here, get Jessie and get out of here." Evan said. "And Leon!" Arcee added. "Whatever!" Evan replied. Beth cheered. "Yes! 53-4 to the Oreo Queen! Also noughts and crosses champion! Now for round 69!" Chief closed his eyes. Remi looked confused. "If you've won 53 and Arcee's won 4 then shouldn't it be round 58?" Beth laughed. "You can get a tie in a game of noughts and crosses, Remi!" Beth said laughing. "Oh, yeah!" Remi laughed. "I mustn't be thinking straight!" she added. "Don't worry Remi, I can't see how any of us can think straight when we're locked in here!" Evan said as he kicked the wall, only it was a little too hard. "OOOOOWWWWW!" He sat down. "Oops!" he said smiling. Chief glanced over at Evan. He let out an audible sigh. "What's up Chief?" Beth asked as she got up and went to sit by him. "I'm fed up. We have no-one to help us, No one to free us, and Jessie is stuck who knows where." He sighed again. "What's more I'm related to our capturer." Suddenly his cell phone rang. "What the?" He picked it up. It stopped ringing. "CARLY!" He said smiling. "And Drew! And Bear Hugger!" He rang them back and explained the situation. Carly told them he was coming. "Wait! It's too..." He cut off. "Oh great!" He let out a huge sigh. "They're coming." The others looked at him. "Isn;t that a good thing?" They asked. "Not if they get caught"

Chapter 16
About half an hour later the door to the cell was shaken. "Guys we're here!" Carly shouted. "Oh good!" Chief said as he jumped to his feet. "Evan use your keyblade to open the door." Evan smashed the door open. "Now why didn't you do that before?" Beth asked. "it never occured to me" Evan replied grinning. They all ran up the main rooms. "Ok guys, here's the plan... I'll go find Jessie, and you go get Dr. O" Chief ordered. "Whoa wait a minute!" Evan said poking Chief in the chest. "Why do you always get to save Jessie?" Chief looked a little bit worried. "Because... well... fine, evan, remi and beth, you go get Jessie, me and the others will go get my uncle" Chief said, his cheeks flushing a little. "Let's go!" Chief's group headed down one corridor and Evan's down another. Evan kicked open a door. "Evan!" Jessie cried! She ran over and hugged him. "And Remi, and Beth!" She hugged them all. Leon walked over and nodded. "I told you they'd come!" He said laughing. "Back off!" Evan roared. Leon looked at him in surprise. "Whoa... sorry dude!" He said putting his hands up to defend himself and stepping back. "EVAN!" Jessie poked him in the stomach. "Look, just because i am friends with Leon doesn't mean you have to give him a hard time!" She said fiercly. Leon stood quietly in a corner. "Now go talk to him!" Evan tried to protest. "GO!"

Chapter 17
"Um... hey!" Evan said through his teeth. Leon glanced at him sideways. "Bonjour" Evan went to say something else. "No wait!" Leon interupted. "I know what you are going to say. That i should go away, and leave Jessie alone, that she is your friend, and that i should be ashamed of what i did." Evan blinked. "Also that I should forget that i ever knew her and get a new life, away from my new friends." Evan's mouth hung open. "So, tell her i said Au Revoir. And Sid. He was a good friend" Leon turned to walk out the door. "Oh and Evan... I am ashamed of what i did. It haunts me day and night." With that, he left. Evan looked after him. "WHAT WAS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Jessie yelled. "YOU LET HIM GO?!?" She folded her arms. "Don't you know how much he's been through? He has had to live with the trauma of being hypnotized into kidnapping me!" Evan looked at Jessie, hurt. "I don't want..." He broke off. "You don't want what?" Jessie asked, more sympathetically. "I don't want to lose our friendship." Evan admitted. Jessie smiled. "Don't you see... Nothing can cover our friendship, i have enough room for everyone!" She hugged him. "Now, go apologise for being mean to Leon." She said giving him another quick hug. Evan nodded and ran down the hall. Beth and Remi blinked. Jessie laughed. "Come on guys, lets go help the others" She ran into the corridor and her instinct told her to go right. At the end of the corridor they entered a lab.

Meanwhile...
Chief tiptoed into the lab where Osvaldo was sleeping. He pulled out his sword. The metal sheath caused Os to stir. "Huh? Wha?" Chief held the sword to him. "Osvaldo... Why did you do what you did?" Os laughed. "Ah... Sidney! I was hoping you'd escape, you'd be a worthy opponent" He jumped up and pulled out a sword. "Defend yourself!" He shouted. Chief blocked his blow. They fought again for a good few minutes. The others joined him in the Lab. "WOOOOO GO CHIEFY!" BearHugger yelled. "Cum on Chief YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Bite his oreo head off....... he tryed killin the BABV SS!!!!" Arcee screamed. Chief glanced over his shoulder. "LOOK OUT!" Drew shouted. Chief turned around and dived away. Footsteps clattered in the corridor. Jessie and her gang burst in. "CHIEF!" She screamed. He was on the floor. He got up slowly. Os slashed at him. The sword pierced his skin. Evan had to hold Jessie back. Tears streamed down her face. "CHIEF!" She cried. Leon disappeared. BH, Beth, Arcee, Remi, Drew and Carly held Jessie back as Evan ran towards Chief and Os. Os raised his sword. But Leon held it back. He jumped up and pulled Os back. Evan lifted Chief up and started to pull him away. Os dropped the sword and went to grab Chief. "Why are you trying to kill your own nephew?" Evan yelled. Os was furious. "BECAUSE HE REMINDS ME OF HIS FATHER! MY BROTHER!" Leon grabbed the sword and held it to Os's back. Evan smiled at Leon. Chief came to. Evan put him down slowly. Leon grabbed the arms of Os and Evan helped him pin him down. Os looked at the injured 17 year old. He fell down again. Leon and Evan held him up. During the fight, Chief had gained a cut on his left arm and another on his right leg. It caused him to gasp when he stood on it. Chief raised his eyes to his uncle's. He closed them in pain. As he opened then again, he began to speak. "Osvaldo, I may look like my father, but I am nothing like him at all." He paused to take a breath. "My father was greedy and selfish. He treated you wrong, which I think is why you act like you do." He grimaced. "I think, if you try, you can forgive him. Because i forgive him, and i forgive you" With that he fell to the floor. Osvaldo looked around. "What... what have i done?" He murmered. "I have turned into a monster" He began to cry. "I... I... I... I'm sorry Sid" He stuttered. Chief nodded solemly. With that he passed out. But just after Jessie pulled free and ran over to him.

Chapter 18
Chief woke up 2 days later. He was in a white room. It was the first aid ward in HQ. A place he had built, hoping it would never be used. A figure stood at a table. She was dressed in a red dress with red slippers and her hair was braided into a red ribbon. She turned to face him. "CHIEF!" She cried in happiness. She ran over to him and held his hand. She was crying. "Oh Chief, I'm so glad you are ok!" She hugged him, tightly. Chief put his hand on her head. "It's ok, i'm ok" He said soothing. He looked down at himself when she got up. "Have i been here all this time?" He asked. Jessie laughed. "Yes, and you are on your way to recovery. Only..." She cut off. Chief pulled her towards him. "Only- what?" He asked. "You'll have 2 more scars, on your leg, and your arm." Chief laughed. "At least I'm alive!" He smiled. Jessie smiled back. "Yes, at least you're alive!"

Chapter 19
That afternoon, Chief got up and got dressed. He pulled on his black shirt slowly over his bandage. He winced as it caught. He slowly buttoned it up, trying not to hurt himself. He then picked up his trusty hat and placed it on his head. He limped down the corridor slowly. “Hello?” He called, hoping to find out where everyone had gone to. He heard footsteps. “Hello??” he called again. “Chief? Is that you?” came the reply. “Yeah! Uh… Where is everyone?” He called back. Jessie walked from around he corner. She was now dressed in her uniform. “We’re about to have a meeting. Osvaldo ran away after you passed out. We have to find him. Evan, Beth and Remi want to get him. But i said it’s you’re decision. We are going to discuss it now.” She hooked his left arm behind her neck and helped him along. “Right.” He said limping. “Let’s get to that meeting.” He said. After a few minutes, they arrived in the conference room. Evan was stood up and pacing. Jessie helped Chief sit in the chair at the head of the table. “Ah… Chief… Good to see you!” Evan said. He walked over and patted Chief’s good arm. “Can I please go pulverize Os?” He asked quietly. Chief laughed. “Now, Evan. I know you don’t like him. But I have to think about this. We can’t just bust in on him and kill him. He’s my uncle and then I would be as bad as he was. Plus, before I passed out he seemed to be very upset about what he did. I think if I can talk to him, we might just save him.” Evan sighed. “Alright” Beth and Remi looked at each other. “OK, but can’t I knock some sense into him?” Beth said. Chief looked at her. “Perhaps.” Beth grinned. “YAY!” Chief shook his head. “So where is he?” He asked Jessie, who held a tracking device. “He’s ran off to… oh no!” She looked up, her face ghostly white. “Where?!” Chief said, standing. Jessie stepped forward. “To… Slimy Swamp!” Chief’s mouth hung open. “Not… the Slimy swamp?” Jessie nodded. “Thea’s Swamp” Jessie said solemnly. Chief sat down. He was thinking. “Chief, you have to stay here, if Thea knows you are injured she’ll make sure you are taken care of. And I don’t think she’ll hire nurses.” Chief began to protest. “Look…” Jessie put her hand on his shoulder and looked at him. “I don’t want you getting hurt even more. I can take care of this. Trust me.” Chief looked at her sadly. “Jessie… I can’t… I don’t want you getting hurt either. You are skilled. But Thea may have gotten better. She’ll want revenge.” Jessie looked up at him. “I understand” She said. “But we need someone to go and defeat Os and contain Thea” Chief looked down. He looked over at Evan, Remi and Beth. He looked back at Jessie. He smiled and raised his eyebrows. Jessie looked over and then smiled again. She nodded. The both turned, Chief wobbled a bit, so Jess let him lean on her. “Evan, Remi and Beth… You have a mission!” He announced!

Chapter 20
Evan, Remi and Beth were stood in Jessie's office. She looked them in the eye. "Ok guys, this is it. You're time to show what you're made of. Now, be careful. This Thea is nasty. I should know. Watch your backs, and look out for each other." She walked in front of each of them. "Evan, Remi, Beth. Fare well, my friends. Take care. And call me when you defeat them." She hugged each one in turn. "Yes Chief... I mean Jessie." Evan said. Beth and Remi giggled. Jessie put her hands on her hips. "Now don't tell me i'm starting to sound like the boss" she said playfully, nudging her friend. Evan blushed at his mistake. "Sorry, i just, I'm so excited... my first proper mission!" Remi nudged him. "OUR first" she reminded. "Yeah!" Beth agreed. "Sorry!" he said. "What is it nudge Evan day?" He said with a laugh. Jessie smiled. Her face had a shadow of worry. "Guys... really, be careful." She warned. "I'll miss you." She added. "No you wont" Beth said. "You've got Chief" A grin spread across her face. Jessie smiled. "Ah, yes... the wounded soldier. Speaking of which, i'd best see to him." She turned on her heel. "Goodbye my friends!" She added as the turned at the door. She sighed and walked out. Evan looked after her. Then the three agents-in-training began to pack. Jessie walked to the first aid center, where Chief was having a nap. She prepared a bathing bowl and looked out as her friends left for their mission. She checked the water temperature and then went to Chief's side. She woke him gently. "Chief... wake up... it's time to wash your cuts." She whispered in his ear. He slowly stretched and sat up. He took a drink of water. Then he slipped his night-shirt, the one he had to wear in the first aid center, off his arm and settled. Jessie slowly undid his bandage. Chief winced. "Ow!" He yelled. "That hurts!" Jessie laughed. "Well... it is a cut... it's going to hurt!" She said throwing the bandage into a sanitary bin. Chief lay back on the bed. Jessie gently washed the deep wound. "Aaaahhhh!" He said again. Jessie proceeded. "You know this is vital if you don't want any horrible infections." She said looking down. Chief's face was scrunched up in pain. "Of course... i just.... didn't expect it to hurt this much." He relaxed as Jessie changed the cleanser. She picked up his arm again. "AAAAAAAA!" He yelled, his eyes closed. She paused. "AAAAOOOOOOOWWWWW!" He yelled. He continued to yell. "Ow... Aaah oooooh ouch!" Jessie raised an eyebrow. "Um... Chief..." He opened one eye. "I'm not doing anything" She said. Chief looked at his arm, she was only holding it in place. "Oh." He said embarassed. Jessie laughed. She gently washed it some more then, when finished, she wrapped up the clean cut with a fresh bandage. "Thank you" Chief said quietly. "No problem" Jessie replied. Chief slowly slipped on his shirt. They looked at each other for a moment. Jessie smiled a little. Chief smiled too. "You're blushing." He said. Jessie put her hands on her cheeks. "Oh... no i'm not!" She got up quickly and walked over to the window. Chief leaned sideways. He laughed. "Fair enough. Are you done?" She turned to face him. "Done?" Chief pointed to his sore arm. "With the keeping infections away?" Jessie shook her head. "Oh, yes... I mean no... i still have to bathe you're leg wound." She said flustered. A few minutes later. She finished wrapping the wound up. She packed up and went to leave. "Uh... Jessie..." Chief mumbled. She turned around. "Yeah?" Chief put his hand on his neck and rubbed it. "Thanks for looking after me" He said quickly. Jessie smiled. "Well... who else would?" Chief looked at her. "Uh... everyone?" He said cheekily. She laughed. "You'd best get some rest." She walked out. "Rest" Chief repeated. He shifted his weight down and drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 21
Evan, Beth and Remi set off into the jungle, heading for the slimy swamp. After a few run ins with the local wildlife... mainly snakes, spiders and other swamp creatures, they came to a creepy cave. "This must be Thea's lair!" Evan said pointing at a sign which warned them. "Go Away or Be SORRY!" Remi shuddered. "Guys, I'm scared... Jessie had a hard time with Thea and she's a skilled agent." Evan raised his head proudly. "I am as skilled as any agent." He tripped over a vine. Beth laughed. "Yeah in a circus!" She whispered to Remi. Evan got up and brushed the slime off him. "Yuck... this Thea girl is a terrible housekeeper!" He said disgustedly. They walked into the cave. As they came across a room, they heard a loud laugh. "Hello there do-gooders!" Thea cackled. Evan pulled out his keyblade. "Remi, Beth get behind me... You girls don't wanna tangle with this woman!" He said. Beth and Remi looked at each other. "Uh... Evan... we're a team... so we fight as a team!" Beth summoned her powers as did Remi. Suddenly a man appeared. "Dr. O!" Evan said angrily. He whispered to Beth and Remi quickly. "New plan... you keep Thea busy and i'll keep Os entertained." He walked over to Os and whacked him with his keyblade. Os fell to the floor. "Aaaaaahh!" He cried. Evan sat on him to make sure he didn't get up. Meanwhile, Remi and Beth used their powers to restrain Thea, they locked her in an oreo-cage so she couldn't escape. They joined Evan. "Oh hey girls!" He called. Remi looked at the Dr closely. "Wait!" she said. She leaned in and pulled at a small tear by his neck. His "face" peeled off to reveal a totally different man. "A man in a mask!" Beth said in amazement. "So... who's the real Dr. O?" Evan replied. "I'm not sure... But i think Chief will be pleased to know this." Remi said. They climbed into K.I.T.T, Evan's car, and drove back to HQ!

Chapter 22
Chief was sat in his chair with his feet on his desk. His arm and leg were feeling much better after being treated. He switched on his stereo and listened to his favorite track (no prizes for guessing which one ) and tapped his foot in the air to it. He closed his eyes and hummed to the tune. Jessie tiptoed in and quickly grabbed his hat. She turned the volume down and sat on the edge of the desk. She tossed the hat into the air. "So... I take it you're feeling better?" She said as she frisbee'd his hat to him. "Yeah, brilliant!" He said patting his arm. Jessie walked around. "Good, because i was really worried about you the other day." She said hugging him from behind. Chief looked at her mischieviously. He waggles his eyebrows up and down once. Jessie laughed and pushed his hat down over his eyes. "Not like that you silly thing!" She said laughing. He peeped from under his hat. "What like then?" He asked. An almost empty glass of orange squash and lemonade was on his desk. Jessie glanced at it. "Are you hyper?" She said raising an eyebrow. Chief played a pantomime of innocence. "Who? Me? You have to be joking, I'm never hyper" He smiled mischeviously again and winked. He brought his face up to Jessie's. Jessie folded her arms. "OK maybe a little bit" he admitted. Both looked at each other for a moment. Then Beth walked in. "WEEEE'RE BACK!!!!!!!!!" She shouted. Jessie jumped back quickly. Chief looked around quickly. "Oh hey beth, we were just... talking!" He said casually. Jessie nodded. Beth looked at Chief then at Jessie and then shook her head. "Whatever. Wait until you hear this!" Evan appeared pushing the two cages. Remi followed. Chief smiled. "I knew you could do it!" He said. Then he frowned. "But who's he?" He pointed at Dr. O. "That's Dr. O!" Beth said excited. "A man in a mask!" Remi added. "And a heavy one too!" Evan added. Jessie laughed. Chief walked over. "So... Dr. O wasn't my uncle." Then the man spoke up. "No, Dr. O is your uncle. I am not Dr. O" Jessie's eyes were wide with amazement. The man looked around. "You see, i took on Osvaldo's identity and planned to rule the world!" Jessie walked over and put her hand on the cage. "Uh.. why?" The man sighed. "Because he won me in the spring feté" He sighed. "He got the biggest cucumber, and i was jealous. So i locked him up in my dungeon and took on his identity." Chief walked over to the door. He looked sick. "So, Chief's uncle is really out there?"

Chapter 23
Chief's face was pale. The fake Dr. O nodded. "Yes, he's still out there, Osvaldo, my friend, or at least he used to be, before we got competitive." He looked over at Chief. "I was jealous of him. You're father is a good man. As is you're uncle. It is I who is bad." Chief looked over his shoulder. "But my father was greedy and selfish." He said. The man shook his head, "Did you ever meet you're father?" Chief thought. "Only when i was too young to remember, but my uncle once told me about him. Back when i went to visit him. I've not seen my father since i was a little boy." The man looked down to the floor. "Well, that was I. I told you that you're father was a mean man. And I locked him up too." Chief spun around furiously. "So, basically, YOU DECIEVED ME INTO THINKING MY FATHER WAS HORRIBLE WHEN REALLY HE'S A DECENT MAN?!?" Chief walked towards him angrily. The man nodded sadly. "All because of a giant cucumber." The man said quietly. Jessie held Chief back. "What is you're name then?" Jessie asked the man. "It's Walter, I hate it, I sound so, old!" He said sadly. Jessie looked at Walter. "My grandpa was called that." She said sadly. She looked up at the 40 year old's face. She looked at his grey eyes. Chief looked too. "So, you're sorry?" He asked. "Unbelieveably sorry." He replied. Chief walked around. He pulled out a key and unlocked the cage. The man stood back. Chief helped him out. Then he shook his hand. "Then i forgive you."

Chapter 24
Jessie walked into Chief's office and picked up some papers on the table by the door. She walked out again quickly. Chief glanced up and began to shout. "Jess?" She re-appeared. "Hmm?" She said. He laughed and motioned for her to come towards the desk. "What is it?" She asked. He stood up and walked around. He leaned forwards and lowered his voice. "I want a word, about Evan." Jessie nodded. "I think it's time." Jessie was so excited. "Really?!" She asked. Chief nodded. "Thank you!" She jumped on him and gave him a big hug. "He's gonna be so happy!" She smiled. A few moments passed. "So, aren't you gonna go tell him?" Chief asked. "Oh, yeah." Jessie skipped out of the office. "EVAN!" She called. "You're in!" She hugged him. "You're an agent! In Florida Squad 406!" She clapped her hands and handed him a certificate. "It's just a note from the boss." Evan blinked. "The boss?" Jessie nodded. "Chief!" She seemed to go off into a daze. "Jessie?" Evan waved his fingers in front of her face. "Hello?" He put his hands on his hips. "Attention Commander Jessie, This is Commander Evan from Earth. Do you read me?" He said in a funny voice. "Earth to Jessie?" Jessie shook her head. "Huh? Oh! Sorry" She laughed. "I was just looking at the ceiling!" Evan raised an eyebrow. "Right" Jessie grabbed his arm. "Come on, i'll take you to your base!" She pulled him into a 2 man plane which was parked out back. She flew them to Florida. "I never knew you could fly!" Evan said as he watched out the window. "Oh, Chief taught me. It comes in handy!" She smiled. Evan nodded. "You think he'll teach me?" Jessie landed on the runway outside the base. "Oh, sure! And if he doesn't, I can!" They walked into the empty base. "Wow! This place is awesome!" Evan gasped as he looked around. "We are putting you in charge of the wizard unit. That's Zed, Kaylynn and if you like, Julia!" Evan's eyes popped. "Julia's here?" A brown haired, brown eyed girl stepped out from the shadows. "Hi Evan!" she said shyly. "Hi" Evan said, equally as shy. Jessie laughed and stepped back. "I'll leave you two alone." She winked at Evan then flew back to HQ. Chief was rummaging in his cupboards. "What are you doing?" Jessie asked. Chief looked up "I'm going to find my father!"

Chapter 25
"You WHAT!?" Jessie said walking over to him. "I said, I'm going to find my father." Chief repeated. "Don't even try to stop me!" He added. Jessie laughed. "Stop you? Why would i want to stop you?" She put her arms round his neck. "I want to help!" She said. "Whoa no!" Chief unhooked her arms. "No way! It would be much too dangerous!" He backed into the corner. Jessie followed. "Danger is my middle name." Chief hit the wall. "No it isn't!" He argued. "It's an expression!" Jessie said. "I don't care if you wanna jump into a shark tank. Well... I do care... But you aren't coming!" Jessie looked to the floor. "Not fair!" She moaned. Chief straightened his tie. "I don't care. Now if you'll excuse me." Jessie looked up. "I'm coming!" Chief looked at her. "No you are not!" She stood infront of him looking into his eyes. "Yes... I... AM!" She said firmly. Chief sighed. "FINE! You can come!" Jessie smiled. "Thanks" She hugged him quickly. "I'll go pack!" Chief sat down, sliding on the wall. He put his head in his hands. It wasn't that he didn't want Jessie to come, its just he didn't want to come back without her.

Chapter 26
It was 6am and Jessie's alarm clock beeped. She walked over to the clock and turned it off. She was already up and ready to go. Her hair was brushed into a messy bun. She zipped up her bag and went to the Chief's office. He wasn't there, so she went to his dorm. He was asleep. Jessie laughed quietly then sneeked to the side of his bed. She picked up a glass of water and threw the water over him. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Chief jumped up and threw off his sheets. He looked at his bed, then his clothes, then Jessie. Water dripped down his face, his hair soaked. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't get you back" Chief muttered. Jessie laughed and picked up a towel. She dried his face. "Because I'm awesome?" She said laughing. "Anyways Mister! You were sleeping in! We were supposed to be up by six ready to leave, before anyone tagged along!" Chief shook his head like a dog drying itself and the water droplets from his hair sprayed Jess. "HEY!" She said hitting him with the towel. He laughed and started to get changed. "I'll meet you by the exit in 5 minutes" He said laughing. Jessie nodded and went to get the equipment. 5 minutes later Chief arrived at the HQ exit. "That was close! I saw Leon on the way out, he was half asleep though so i got by ok." Chief yawned. Jessie nudged him. "He's not the only one half asleep" Chief rubbed his eyes. "I had a rough sleep. I was dreaming about my father. What if he hates me?" Jessie straightened Chief's bandanna which he had round his neck. "Then it's his loss" She said solemnly. With that they slid down the fire pole and ran into the dark.

Chapter 27

Jessie jumped awake. Her eyes were filled with tears. "It was just a dream" She said, with a croak in her voice. She pulled on her wellingtons and unzipped her tent. She tip-toed over to Chief's tent and 'knocked'. "Chief?" She whispered. "mmm?" Came the muffled reply. Jessie glanced around. "CHIEF!?" She hissed. "WHAT?!" He answered, his voice groggy from being woken up. "Are you ok?" Jessie whispered. She heard Chief groan as he streched. "Mmmm hmm" He replied. Jessie sighed. Chief coughed. "Why? Are you ok?" Jessie hesitated. "I... I had a dream..." Chief nodded to himself. "You wanna come in? It's cold out" He offered. Jessie hesitated again. "Um... ok" Jessie started to walk round to the entrance. Chief rubbed his eyes. Then, realising where he was, he shuffled over to his bag and pulled out a t-shirt. He pulled it over his head quickly, just getting it down in time. Jessie sat down on the opposite side of the tent, her arms wrapped around her knees. Chief crawled over and sat next to her. "So, what about this dream?" Jessie took in a deep breath and told it. Her eyes were welling up with tears. "And then... I woke up" She concluded. Chief put his arm around her and hugged her. "Aww, Jess, It's Ok, I'm ok" Jessie cried quietly into his shoulder. Chief handed Jessie a tissue and she dried her eyes. "Thanks" She sniffed. Chief brushed some hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. She put her head on his chest and let out a huge sigh. The next morning, Jessie awoke, still in the same position that she was the night before. She rubbed her eyes and stretched. Quietly she unzipped the tent and tiptoed out to get changed into her day's clothes. A few minutes later, Chief emerged from his tent, fully dressed in a blue t-shirt and tan coloured canvas shorts. He had a brown fedora style hat on and his shades. He crouched to take his tent down and then rolled it up and lifted it onto his back. He gave Jessie a quick hug then they moved on.

Chapter 28
They arrived at a large house, built into the hill. Chief took his glasses off to look at the magnificent structure. "Whoa!" Jessie said in awe. "You're dad lives... there?!" She looked up to the vast glass and concrete building. Chief raised his eyebrows. "Apparently so" he said replacing his shades on the bridge of his nose. He shrugged his bags onto his shoulder and began to climb the path which lead to his father's mansion. "He must be absolutely loaded!" Jessie gasped. "Look at that statue! It's HUGE!" She pointed to a big golden statue of a woman sitting on a rock. "And that one!" She pointed to a marble statue of a boy playing pan pipes. Chief nodded. Jess looked at the gardens. "There's water fountains in every area!" She marvelled. "This place rocks!" Chief pointed to a poster. "Looks like my old man is celebrating something." Chief said. "Good job I packed some disguises" Chief patted the backpack he had slung over his shoulder. "AAAHH!" He yelled. He dropped the bags and fell to the floor. "Chief?!" Jessie cried as she ran to his side. "What's wrong? Tell me!" Chief gripped his arm and said through gritted teeth "My arm! It's my arm!" His face was scrunched up in pain. Jessie rolled up his sleeve gently. She removed the support bandage that covered his arm. "Chief? Look at me! Is that better?" He nodded. Jessie sat with him for a few minutes then then stood up and continued on. Jessie watched him all the way up to the courtyard. Chief felt her eyes on him and occasionally he glanced to the side. At the courtyard, Chief dropped the bags again and flexed his arm. "That's better" He said. Jessie felt satisfied that he was ok and she took in the view of the valley. "So... did you know your dad had so much money?" Jessie asked, shuffling her feet. Chief shook his head. He unzipped the backpack and pulled out a long red ballgown. He threw it to Jessie who held it up to herself. She looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "What's this for?" She said. Chief pulled out a Tux. "Well, if he's throwing a party, we need to blend in." Chief said winking. Jessie shrugged and went to find an area where she could get changed. She met up with Chief in front of the entrance. He looked at her for a while. "Hello?" She waved her hand in front of his eyes. "I'm here?" She laughed. Chief snapped out of the daze. "Sorry" he mumbled. "You just look, wow!" Jessie laughed and the two hid the bags behind a bush. Chief held his arm out to Jessie, who took hold of it. They took a deep breath, and pushed open the door.

Chapter 29
The entrance hall of the Bear Mansion was busy with a variety of household staff collecting coats from the guests. A butler offered Bearberry Fizz to the guests as they walked into the ball room. A maid, in a frilly apron and peppermint green dress greeted Chief and Jessie with a warm smile. "Welcome to Maximilian Bear's Mansion" she said cheerily. Chief nodded politely and Jessie smiled. "Wow, he has his own welcome comittee!" Jessie whispered. Chief smiled to himself. Deep down he was incredibly nervous, but Jessie helped him to relax. She had let go of his arm and was looking around curiously, lifting her dress slightly so she didn't trip. He took a glass of Bearberry Fizz and slid his arm around Jessie's waist. Jessie looked at him as if to say, 'What on earth are you doing?' He looked at her as if to say 'I'll tell you in a minute' Jessie seemed to accept this answer and sighed, Chief lead Jessie over to the buffet table and sat her down near to it. "Sorry about that" He said nervously. "Someone was looking at us and I thought they knew we weren't invited, so i had to make it look like we had come, together." Jessie nodded. "Oh, right!" She said and smiled to herself. Chief gave a lopsided smile and stood up and went to get some food. A young girl, of around Jessie's age came over and sat beside her. "G'day!" She said in an australian accent. Jessie smiled. "Hello" She replied. "What's your name?" Jessie took a sip of Bearberry Fizz and replied. "Jessie Loveable, and you?" The australian girl smiled. "I'm Adelaide, Adelaide Surf" Jessie nodded. "So, what brings you to Mr. Bear's party? Are your parents here?" Adelaide asked. Jessie froze, "I know a relative of his" She said quickly. It was true. "And my parents live in England." She added. "They don't know the relative." Jessie added again. Adelaide smiled, "My dad is his mate, he's the Aussie Ambassador" Jessie nodded slowly. "Oh, you mean he's his friend and he's the Austrailian Ambassador?" Adelaide laughed, "Yes!" Jessie smiled. "So who's the bloke you came with?" Jessie looked over at Chief, "Oh just a friend" She said. "Well, he's completely cute!" Adelaide whispered. Jessie sighed. "Hmm" She watched as he selected his food and cheekily put a grape into his mouth. A smile spread across her face. "I'm gonna go grab some tucker" Adelaide said walking over to Chief. Chief walked back over to Jessie, as if avoiding Adelaide. He passed Jessie a small sandwich and offered his plate to her. Jessie helped herself. Adelaide returned with a plate of Chicken ans Sausages. "I got myself some Chook and Snags!" She said happily. She looked at Chief. "Crikey! You don't half look like Maximilian!" Adelaide said. Chief choked on a grape. Jessie patted him on the back. "Who? Sam? Nah! Of course he's nothing like that Max dude!" She covered up. Adelaide raised her eyebrow. "Whatever! Do you know how rich Maximilian is?" She asked excitedly. Jessie shook her head. "Nope" Adelaide grinned. "He's worth 100000000 bear bills!" She said. "He's a multi-billionare!" Chief choked on another grape. "Excuse me!" He said and he dashed off. Adelaide looked after him. "Crikey! Will he be ok?" She said. Jessie stood up. "Excuse me." She walked after him. "Chief? You ok?" Jessie said when she found him on a balcony. He nodded. "Multi-billionare?!" He muttered. He sat on the wall. "Jess, I'm not sure, my father is mega rich, maybe I'm not good enough to be his son? Maybe he'd want a more swave and sophisticated son." Jessie nearly choked. "Who could be more swave and sophisticated than you Chief?" She said hugging him. "Except a snob!" She added. A single tear dripped from Chief's crystal blue eyes. "All my life I've wondered who my father was, what he's like, and now, i find out he may not even like me." Jessie held him at arms length. "I'm gonna slap you in a minute!" She joked. "Sid" Chief looked at her. She only called him Sid if she was completely serious. "If your father doesn't like you, for whatever reason, then first, he is a suck up snob who doesn't deserve you for a son. And Second, he's losing out on being the father of the greatest guy I know. You" Chief sighed. "Thanks Jess. I guess I'm just nervous" Jessie nodded. "I would be if i was to meet my dad for the first time in, i don't know my whole life! Besides of course when you were little." She added. "So what's the plan." Chief stood up. He put his foot on the wall and leaned on his knee. "We need to blend in, that means eat when they eat, sit when they sit." Jessie thought a moment. "What about, when they dance." As if on cue, an orchestra started. Chief looked at Jessie with a sparkle in his eye. He stood up straight and held out his hand in a gentlemanly manner. "Fair lady, may I have this dance?"

Chapter 30
Chiefy lead Jessie to the dance floor. He placed his hand on her side and held her other one in the air. They began to waltz. They spun around. Jessie looked into Chief's eyes. "I had no idea you could dance" She said. "Well..." Chief replied. "...I'm full of surprises" Jessie sighed and hugged him. Meanwhile, Maximilian Bear sipped a glass of bearberry fizz. His wife Geri chatted with her friend. He scanned the dance floor with his crystal blue eyes. His wavy hair was golden blonde and he wore an expensive tuxedo. However, his eyes, though lively and sparkling, had an emptiness to them. As if they were longing for something. The blue eyes flashed over the dancing couples. Momentarily he saw a young man, dressed in a tux, with the same blonde hair and blue eyes as himself. He took a second glance but found he was gone. Had he imagined this younger self? No. There he was again. He was waltzing with a pretty young girl with dark hair. Max felt drawn to this boy. He began to walk through the dancing people, who seemed to be moving in slow motion. Closer, closer until he was almost close enough to touch him. He reached out his hand and touched his shoulder.

Chief turned round expecting to see a teenager asking Jessie to dance. Instead he saw a man, an older man, his father.

Chapter 31
The world seemed frozen as father and son looked at each other. Chief looked up, Max looked down. It was silent, to both men. The dancing continued around them but all they could hear, was their own breathing. Finally, the "silence" was broken by Max. He took a deep breath, and spoke. "Sidney?" He asked, almost afraid of what was to come. Chief's mouth was dry. "Sidney Bear?" Max asked again. Chief tried to open his mouth and speak. But he was silent. He nodded. Max looked as if someone had pushed him over. "My... son?" He asked, as if there were 1000s of Sid Bears. Chief took in a breath. "Yes" Max stepped towards Sid. "I don't believe it!" He murmered. "My son..." Max gazed at his son. Chief gulped. "Hi father." he whispered, barely audible. Max's eyes filled with tears. He pulled his son towards him and hugged him. "Oh, it's been so long!" He said with his eyes closed. Chief began to cry. "Dad, I... I..." Max looked down at him, which is pretty weird as Chief is like 6ft. "What is it son?" Chief took in a deep breath. "I love you, Dad." closed his eyes and put his head on his dad's chest. "I love you too, son." Max replied. Suddenly the world came back to life. Geri walked over and looked closely at Chief. "Sidney, darling?" She asked. Chief turned and hugged his mom. "Mom!" He said. Jessie smiled and started to turn and walk away. She felt a hand grab hers. She looked around. "Mom, Dad, This is Jessie, Jessie Loveable" Chief said smiling. Geri and Max smiled. "Nice to meet you Jessie" Geri smiled as she kissed Jessie's cheek in a greeting way. "Nice to meet you ma'am" Jessie said politely. "It's a pleasure meeting you. Miss Loveable." Max said kissing her hand. Jessie blushed slightly. "Thank you sir." She said shyly. Chief smiled happily. He had finally found his parents. Jessie walked off with Geri and they had a chat. Then Max leaned over to Chief and said out of the corner of his mouth. "You're girlfriend's cute" Chief spun around. "She's not my girlfriend" He hissed. Max smiled cheekily. "OK, sure, whatever."

Chapter 32
A week had passed since Chief had found his parents after six years. So to have some time out, he and his father organised a holiday for the gang out on a lake, which Chief's dad happened to own. The trip included jet skiing on the lake, water skiing, kayaking, and motor boating. Chief's dad had all the equipment and even his own yatch. He took them all down to the lake that day and taught them all how to do everything. After the tutorial, Max and Chief got into a kayak each and paddled into a distant part of the lake. It was a secluded area which gave Chief and his father a chance to talk the past few years over. "So..." Max started. "It's been a while, what's happened in your life since i last saw you?" Chief put his paddle over the front of the boat. "Well, it's a long story." He said smiling. "Hard to know where to start. Well, after you left, this was back when i was four, mom looked after me, when i turned 11 i was sent to boarding school in build a bearville, thats the town you're house overlooks. I left school at the age of 13 and started to work on my own. I took on martial arts and other sports, and started up an organization." Chief studied his father's face to see his reaction. "What kind of organization?" He asked. Chief thought for a moment, thinking of how he could break it to his father that he was a secret agent. "Um... Its called... thebabvsecretservice." He said quickly. "The what?" Max said laughing. "thebabvsecretservice" Chief repeated. "The babv what? Slower please" Max said laughing. Chief sighed. "The BABV Secret Service, it's kinda like the FBI or the CIA, but in Build-A-Bearville." Chief said nervously, with a fear that his father would think him silly. Max sat back in his kayak. "Wow, My son, is a secret agent?!" He said to himself. "Thats..." Chief sighed again. "...COOL!" Max looked at Chief happily. He ruffled his hair. "So what happened after that?" Chief smiled. "Well, I went on some missions, lost a dear friend." He paused. "And found a new one" Max raised his eyebrow. "The cute one?" He said laughing. Chief began to nod. "I mean, if you mean Jessie, yeah her" Max smiled. "So what adventures have you had with her?" Chief laughed. "Trust me, dad, You could write a book out of them" Max laughed. "Ok, what is the most recent?" Chief explained how he'd saved Jessie from Leon, and they had taken Leon in. Then how he was kidnapped, and how Chief, Jessie and Beth had to rescue him, along with everyone else. "Wow" Max said again after Chiefy had finished. "I'm so proud of you!" Max said happily. "Thanks dad." Max looked at Chief for a minute. "Come on, I wanna show you something." He said and he started to paddle towards a small island hidden around the corner of the lake. Once ashore he pulled the kayak onto the sand and walked barefoot up to a weeping-willow tree. Chief walked over too. Fireflies danced around the branches and the whole island seemed to be lost in an evening haze, although the rest of the lake was in the early afternoon "Wow, this place is amazing!" Chief put his hand on the twisted trunk of the willow tree. Max looked around happily. "I used to come here, when i was your age, maybe a little bit older. I'd sit under this old tree and think." He look in a breath. "This is where I proposed to your mother." He added. Chief looked around. "Really?" He asked. "Yup." Max said. "So take note, and when you propose to Jessie do it here!" He added laughing. "DAD!" Chief said and he shoved him. "How many times must i tell you, Jessie and I, we're just friends!" Max smiled. "I know you are son, but I'm your dad, it's my job to tease you about every pretty girl who you come into contact with." Max said shoving him back. "Come on, lets get back."

Chapter 33
Later that evening, around the campfire, Chief played the guitar and sang some songs. Then everyone chatted for a bit. At about mid-night, everyone began to turn in for the night. One by one, they went to sleep, until only Jessie, Chief, Beth and Max were awake. Beth looked around. "Nice lake you got here Mr B." Beth said breaking the silence. "Thanks" Max said smiling. "Its really beautiful, especially at night." Beth and Max talked about the lake some more and Chief stared at the fire. Jessie looked out over the water. Then she looked at a rowing boat tied to the shore. She sighed. "What's wrong Jess?" Chief said. Jessie looked up at him. "Oh, nothing." She said sadly. Chief shifted himself around the fire until he was sat next to her. He nudged her playfully. "What's up?" He said again. "I can tell something's up" Jessie hid a smile but said again. "It's nothing, I'm fine" He eyes were fixed on the rowing boat. Chief followed her gaze. Then he got up and whispered in his dad's ear. Max nodded and turned back to Beth. Chief walked over to the boat and started to untie it. "Hey Beth, it's getting late!" Max said suddenly. "Maybe we should get some rest!" He added, loudly, as if he was trying to hurry Beth. Beth looked at her watch. "But I'm not tired." She said. Max stood up and started pushing her towards her tent. "You will be soon! And NO CHECKING YOUR TEXTS!" He replied. Beth looked at him as if he was speaking another language. Max pulled an expression which made her understand. "OOOOH! Sure, I wont" She said winking. Max climbed into his tent and pretended to fall asleep. Chief watched as his father zipped up his tent. "Oh brother." He said quietly. He continued to untie the boat and pushed it into the water. Jessie began to stand up. "I'd best be getting to sleep too." She said faking a yawn. "Wait!" Chief said hurrying over to her, practically tripping over the rope which trailed from the boat. "Whoa!" He said as he fell into Jessie's arms. Jessie gasped. "Oops" He said nervously and he laughed. Jessie laughed nervously too and she helped him up. Chief rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry about that" He said quietly. Jessie smiled. "It's ok." She said. "What is it?" She asked looking at him. "Hmm? Oh yeah! Don't turn in just yet. I... um..." He started to mumble. "Speak up!" She said laughing. "I may not be deaf but my hearing isn't that good!" She added. Chief laughed and shuffled on his feet. "I was hoping... you might... wanna go... in the boat... on the lake... with me?" He said hesitantly and slowly. Jessie's face broke into a smile. "Of course!" She said happily. She walked towards the boat and took Chief's hand as she walked past. She lead him to the boat then dropped his hand. He pulled the boat in a little then he helped her climb in. Then he sat down on the center seat and began to row to the middle of the lake. The moonlight was blue and bright, and the huge globe reflected on the lake's rippled surface. Jessie took in a deep breath and dipped her fingers into the lake. Chief rowed to the little island that his father had taken him to only hours before and he pulled the boat ashore. He helped Jessie out and they walked up to the willow tree. Jessie gasped as she saw the beautiful branches swaying in the breeze. She walked up to the twisted trunk of the willow and ran her hand over the wrinkles. She walked around the tree slowly. Her hand ran over a carving in the tree. She stopped. The moonlight was bright still, but not as bright. She squinted to read what was enscribed. She saw a heart, in which was etched the letters 'MB' and then 'GC' "Max Bear and, Geri Cub?" Jessie whispered. She grabbed Chief's arm as he walked around the tree. "Look!" She said pointing at the carving. Chief nodded. "Yes, well" He walked to the shore and looked up at the stars. "This is where my dad proposed to my mom." He said slowly. Jessie blinked. "Really?" She asked, stunned. "Yeah" He blew his hair out of his eyes. Jessie walked over to him. "So... Why did you bring me?" She asked looking at him sideways, with a smile on her face. Chief bit his lip. "Uh...." His cheeks turned pink. Jessie laughed quietly to herself. "W-well...." Chief stuttered. Jessie shook her head. She slid her arms around his waist and rested her head on his chest. She sighed. "Well, whatever the reason, I'm glad you did." Chief's heart was pounding. He looked down at Jessie. She looked up. "What is it?" She asked. "What are you looking at me like that for?" Chief touched her cheek with his finger and lifted her chin up. He smiled. Then he sighed and dropped his hand. "We'd best get back, its getting late." He said glancing at his wrist, where his watch normally is but he'd taken it off." Jessie nodded and they rowed back to the mainland.

Chapter 34
The following morning, Jessie awoke to the smell of sausages cooking on a fire. She unzipped her tent and crawled out. Her hair was in a very messy ponytail. She sat down on a log next to Beth. "So... What did you do last night? After we turned in?" Beth said, nudging Jessie with her arm. Jessie yawned and changed the subject. "So what's to eat?" She asked ignoring Beth's question. Beth raised her eyebrows. Chief was still asleep. Jessie looked around. "Where's Chief?" She asked. "Why don't you tell us?" Arcee asked smiling. "You were alone last night." Jessie smiled sarcastically. Max smiled. "OK guys cut it out. The poor girl can't help it if she loves him!" He said laughing. "MAX!!!!!" Jessie said angrily. "What?" Max looked behind her. "Look guys, for the final time! I DO NOT LOVE CHIEF! WE ARE JUST FRIENDS!" Everyone was silent. She looked around at their faces. "He's behind me isn't he" She said quietly. She turned around. Sure enough, Chief was stood there, laughing to himself. "She's right!" He said laughing. Jessie glared at him. "Stop laughing." She said quietly. "Sorry." He replied laughing. "I said Stop!" Jessie glared at him. "I can't!" He added. Jess grabbed his arm and pulled him to one side. "We will be right back." She announced. Once out of ear-shot she looked him in the eye. "Will you cut that out!" She said angrily. "Why are you laughing?!?" She asked. Chief shook his head. "I DO NOT LOVE CHIEF! WE ARE JUST FRIENDS!" He said mimicing her. "You shouldn't let them get to you." He added laughing. Jessie's mouth dropped. "How can i not?!? THEY THINk WE ARE IN LOVE!!" She yelled. Chief smiled. "What?" She asked. "It's just..." He laughed. "You look kinda... cute when you're angry. I've never noticed it before" He added. Jessie dropped her gaze. "Oh..." She blushed. "Um... Thanks, I think" Chief picked up her hands. "Look, The more you let it get to you, the more they'll tease you about it." He said bending down to look at her eyes. "Trust me!" He said Jessie looked at him. "Ok, I understand." She said. They returned quietly and everyone was in mid-discussion. "So where do you want to go next?" Max was asking. "Somewhere hot!" Carly said. "With a beach!" Added BH. "And where i can talk to Rob!" Arcee added. "I guess that's anywhere with a phone!" She said quickly. "OREOS! THERE MUST BE OREOS!" Beth said loudly. Evan jumped up. "FLORIDA!" Max thought for a moment. "I guess we could go to Florida, we could take my yatch onto the sea. Do scuba diving and stuff." He nodded. "Alright, we'll go to Florida!"
